York
Lovingly restored medieval townhouse in the centre of York.
A superb medieval townhouse, Barley Hall was once home to the Mayor of York, Priors of Nostell. It has been lovingly restored to its original glory, with fantastic high ceilings, stunning exposed timber frames, magnificent Great Hall and quite possibly the only horn window in England. The decoration replicates how it might have looked in 1483, as the Snawsell home. Make yourself at home during your visit to Barley Hall. Sit on the chairs, feel the objects and experience what it was like living in medieval England.
