Beck Hall Bed & Breakfast

Malham

18th century Yorkshire Dales bed and breakfast establishment 2 minutes from the centre of Malham

From £54.00
per room per night

Beck Hall’s foundations go right back to 1710, and it’s been offering hotel and B&B accommodation since the 1930s. It’s got many positive aspects but the most important are its location in the pretty village of Malham in the beautiful setting of the Yorkshire Dales; the warm Yorkshire welcome that all guests receive when they arrive; the comfort of the bedrooms and guest rooms; and a flexible approach to ensure that guests can enjoy their stay whatever their requirements.

Beck Hall has 18 bedrooms and between them they can cater for almost any group up to 38 people - so it’s ideal for get-togethers for families or friends.

Children are welcome at Beck Hall: some rooms have a double bed plus sofa bed for up to two kids, and others are twin bedded. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome in some rooms.

As well as providing superb, characterful guest accommodation, Beck Hall also has its own Teashop (open Tuesday-Sunday 11.30-5.30, plus bank holiday Mondays), and evening meals are available to groups if booked in advance. Breakfast is served from 8 to 10 am every morning.

Malham is a beautiful village right in the heart of the Dales. There are two pubs in the village which serve fine ales and good food. And there are lots of shops stocking just about everything you might need for a walking or cycling holiday. Nearby lies Malham Tarn - the highest natural lake in England. Also nearby is Janet’s Foss - a very pretty waterfall. Even nearer is the beck that runs nearby.

Only a little further afield is the Malham Limestone Pavement - which was the setting for one of the scenes in the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1. The geography around Malham is what makes it so attractive to walkers, cyclists and horseriders - all of which are well-catered for with footpaths, bridleways and green lanes.

Also within easy driving distance are the market towns of Settle (8 miles), Skipton (12 miles) and Grassington (16 miles) all of which are interesting places to visit. And if you fancy a change from walking, cycling, riding or driving why not try a canal boat ride - the Leeds and Liverpool Canal is only a few miles from Beck Hall, and you can hire boats in Gargrave (7 miles) or Skipton. Gargrave is also where you can pick up a train for Settle and join the famous Settle-Carlisle route - for many people their favourite train journey in the UK. And if you fancy going underground rather than overground, there are caves and potholes aplenty nearby which are well worth a visit.

Over the Christmas and New Year period the House is available as a self-catering holiday home. Please contact us for further details.
