Theatre – The Killing of Sister George – 1812 Theatre Company
Now that lesbianism has to a large extent come out of the closet The Killing of Sister George may not have the shock value it did when originally performed in 1965 but it remains a powerful drama of thwarted ambition and expectations of love raised and dashed.

A TV producer is tasked with reviving a failing show.

Colin Firth’s Oscar-winning performance about King George VI and his speech therapist.

Cinema – Brighton Rock – Sam Riley, Helen Mirren and John Hurt
A new adaptation of Graham Greene’s classic novel about London spivs and gangsters.

Thurs 28 – Fri 29 Apr 7.30pm
Theatre – Kindertransport – Blue Aces Theatre
A play based on the evacuation of around 10,000 (mostly Jewish) children from Germany to Britain in 1938. Kindertransport tells the story of 9-year-old Eva and how she changed her identity, only for the truth to surface when her own daughter finds old letters in the attic.
