The Milton Rooms, Malton

Set to become one of the leading Arts venues in North Yorkshire, the Milton Rooms is situated right at the heart of the Market Place in Malton and is run by an energetic and dedicated team of performers and artists.

Plans are already afoot for a Studio Theatre and new Artist’s Studios, whilst an ambitious programme of events has already been drawn up.

The Milton Rooms was built in 1814 by the Fitzwilliam family for the use of Malton and Norton residents. The Subscription Rooms, which are now Grade II listed, hosted society balls, music recitals and town meetings, along with more recent social, church and sporting events. By the time the Milton Rooms Hall and Bar were added in 1932, the Rooms had become the centre of community activity.
