The Railway in Wartime weekend has become one of the most popular events on the calendar, and the 2013 event will include lots of entertainment at the stations in Pickering, Grosmont, Goathland and Whitby, including:
- an opening ceremony as the flag is raised to commemorate those who died during the war whilst serving on the railways
- an amazing parade of vehicles and marching men and women in uniform on Saturday morning through Pickering
- fabulous 1940s music and dancing at Grosmont Station
- display of vintage tractors
- the famous air raid reenactment at Pickering Station
- Anderson shelter
- delightful French café on Levisham Station (renamed for the weekend Le Visham and under Nazi control)
- display of the Home Guard
