Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall are coming to this year’s Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate on 13 July. In addition, Kirstie Allsopp of Location, Location, Location fame, the celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager and Michelin-starred chef James Mackenzie will also grace the show.
The Great Yorkshire Show is the region’s most important agricultural show and the largest in the country, acting as a showcase for all things rural – including livestock exhibitors, vehicle manufacturers, local food and drink producers (check out the Food Hall), equestrian displays (with show-jumping), clothing stalls and fashion shows, demonstrations of country skills (including dry-stone walling, fly-fishing, etc) and a host of others.
It’s an annual event and previous royal visitors in recent years include the Queen & Prince Philip in 2008, Princess Anne the Princess Royal in 2010 and Prince Charles and Camilla in 2006.
The Great Yorkshire Show is organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (patron HRH Prince Charles) and takes place this year on Tuesday to Thursday, 12 – 14 July 2011 at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
