A wonderfully traditional Yorkshire Dales agricultural show takes place every year in the picturesque surroundings of Swaledale, and this year’s is particularly special as Reeth Show celebrates its 99th year.
A terrific family day out, featuring the following events amongst others:
- Sheep show
- Horse classes
- Pony classes
- Rabbit and poultry show
- Dry stone walling competition (which is open to entrants on the day)
- Quoits competition
- Fell racing
- Vintage tractors
- Vintage cars and vintage bikes
In addition to the shows, there will be stalls, refreshments, bouncy castles, the Reeth Brass Band parade, horticulture and produce classes in the show’s biggest marquee, plus competitions for handicrafts, paintings, walking sticks, photography and handwriting.

In the main show ring throughout the day visitors will enjoy a large number of horse and pony classes including the colourful and exciting Open Driving Competition and the dazzling Mounted Fancy Dress. There will also be an annual special feature in the main show ring.
Sheep shows featuring the best sheep breeds, along with vintage tractors vying for the best in show award will also be held in the nearby show field.
The fell racing competition is a hugely popular event on the Fremington Edge which overlooks the show field – there are races for all classes and a prize is on offer for anyone who breaks the course record!

Of course there will be plenty of activities for kids, including a variety of rides and stalls.
Lots of information including how to find the show and photographs of previous years can be found on the Reeth Show website.
