
The Museum Gardens in York is set to host BBC One’s popular long-running Sunday evening programme – Antiques Roadshow – on Thursday, 28 July 2011.
York will feature in the show’s 34th series, and it will be the first time the historic city with Roman and Viking links will have hosted the Roadshow since the 14th series way back in 1991.
Presenter Fiona Bruce will be joined by some of the UK’s leading fine arts and antique specialists, and thousands of people are expected to flock to the show having plundered their attics to dig out long-forgotten household treasures, heirlooms, collectables or even bargains picked up at a local car boot sale, in the hope that they are sitting on a rare artefact or high-value item.
The gates will be thrown open to the public at 9:30am and will close at 4:30pm with entry to the show completely free.
People with bulky items including large pieces of furniture are invited to email information with photographs to antiques.roadshow@bbc.co.uk or alternatively by post to:
