Get ready for this tremendous festival, spanning 3 days from 14 to 16 February in various venues in Scarborough, including 100 events and activities, 80 of which are free! Coastival 2014 is set to be epic!
Events include a fantastic production by the Animated Objects Theatre Company called Orpheus the Mariner, which features giant puppets, including an 8ft ammonite that you may have spotted on the Scarborough seafront in the November preview to the show. The production aims to smash the record for largest puppet in the world!
In addition to Orpheus the Mariner and other theatre productions there will be a wealth of different activities and events throughout the town, ranging from music and films to comedy, dance, and performance and visual arts. There’s plenty for children to do too, including the Comedy Club 4 Kids and a children’s comedy workshop hosted by the Stephen Joseph Theatre.
Coastival 2014’s musical headliner is acid jazz band the Brand New Heavies, who’ll be performing on Friday 14 Feb, supported by Nubiyan Twist.
It’s sure to be a superb weekend with lots to see and do, so don’t miss it! To look for accommodation in Scarborough click here.
