An exciting new project is about to come to fruition in the Yorkshire Dales as a sustainable and ethical holiday site is due to open in April 2012.
With hand-crafted woodland huts, luxury yurts, a camping barn complete with showers, a café and parking facilities, the Bivouac Swinton has been lovingly created for those who enjoy being close to nature. What’s more, the superb rustic accommodation comes with some luxurious touches, including heating, quality bed linen and a fantastic hot tub.

The accommodation is very flexible – the barn sleeps up to 12 people, the yurts sleep up to 5 people and the wooden shacks sleep up to 7 people (and the wooden shacks are unique – created especially for the Bivouac, constructed out of sweet chestnut timber frames and clad with larch from the Swinton Estate).
A shop and café in converted farm buildings provide a lively community area for visitors.
Situated in Nidderdale (where Kirstie’s Handmade Britain was filmed recently), the Bivouac boasts plenty of local activities including walking, riding, climbing, mountain biking and fishing.
