Feast and Beast Movement Festival – A First for Yorkshire

FBMF_logoFrom “Oo la la” to “Ee bah gum”! Now that the Tour De France has moved on this is a great opportunity to build on the excitement that has engulfed Yorkshire over the last few days. Spectators have been impressed by what Yorkshire has to offer, so let’s give them something else to rave about.

With the buzz still in the hearts of many this exciting new Festival concept is a great way to boost tourism in Yorkshire.

From cycling to walking organisers are challenging people to conquer one of the region’s best known landmarks – the Yorkshire Three Peaks.

Visitors will also be fed nutritious whole food and will have the opportunity to take part in other physical activities on the Sunday, if they choose not to take on the 24.5 miles that is Pen-y-Gent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

The two day event is the brain child of well-known Personal Trainer Kim Tomlin and Biomechanics Coach Chris Kitson and runs from the 23rd August to the 24th August with visitors attending the Festival being able to camp at the foot of Pen-y-Gent, Horton in Ribblesdale.

Festival goers can expect to be inspired, get active, move better and eat better, through interactive, fun and informative sessions. By joining a Grand Depart of a different kind this August Bank Holiday money will also be raised for Leeds and West Yorkshire Charity Cash for Kids.

“Most people know they should be more active and eat healthily and with so much confusing advice out there we wanted to do this in a way that was enjoyable but also had a challenge attached to it – our Feast and Beast Movement Festival does exactly that.

“We are both passionate about moving better and improving people’s nutritional habits through healthy eating, so want to share our knowledge and passion to change lives for the better.

“Getting people enthusiastic about moving better and embracing their natural Primal instincts when it comes to movement patterns will hopefully encourage people to be more active and get outside more; hence the Beast part of the Festival!

“The Feast part ties nicely into eating healthy, nutritious food, whilst trying to avoid processed, refined foods. At the festival people will experience that healthy choices can be exciting, tasty and altogether more satisfying.

“We want everyone to enjoy being active over the weekend, whether or not they are ready to tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks – it’s really about putting the fun back in to health and fitness,” said Kim and Chris.

“We are so thankful for Kim and Chris choosing us as their charity and raising vital funds for sick and deprived children across West Yorkshire. The events sound exciting and I hope participants will have a good time whilst keeping fit and helping to make a difference to local children.” Lisa Sullivan, Cash for Kids.
