Tour de Yorkshire Unique Bike Icon Giveaway

To celebrate the first ever Tour de Yorkshire, cycling fans will have the chance to win one of 40 unique bikes that have been specially made by Yorkshire metal suppliers Metals4U who are based in Wetherby.

The yellow bikes (sized at 60cm high x 100cm wide) have been designed for people to display outside their homes or offices during this fabulous three-day event.

To be in with a chance of winning one of these unique mementos, cycling enthusiasts are being encouraged to explain what they love most about Yorkshire on social media – by using the hashtag #Metals4Ubikes .

Director at Metals4U, Paul, said that they wanted to create an iconic symbol for the fans that would celebrate the fact that world of cycling is returning again to Yorkshire but for 2015 in the form of a completely new and exciting event.

He felt it was important to not just create an icon that represented the occasion but to also encourage people to celebrate our county in a way that could spread the feel-good factor across social media, well ahead of the race. Metals4U will be tracking the entries made and will be picking 40 winners by Friday 24 April 2015. Once Metals4U have selected the winners, the bikes will be sent for so they’ll be able to be put on display, acting as a fantastic keepsake of this momentous event – the first event of its kind.”

The Tour de Yorkshire which is running from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 May 2015 will see some of this popular sport’s top professionals including Bradley Wiggins competing over 310 miles of roads across Yorkshire, with Day 1 from Bridlington to Scarborough, Day 2: Selby to York and Day 3: Wakefield to Leeds.

Tour de Yorkshire organisers Welcome to Yorkshire and Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) are anticipating around one million spectators, watching the race along the routes, and many more watching the competition on TV.
