Bolton Castle is a splendid medieval castle dating back over 600 years and steeped in fascinating history. Once a deluxe home and fortress, it has stood the test of time and is excellently maintained, with plenty of fascinating rooms to explore from Dungeons, the Great Chamber, Old Kitchens and Mary Queen of Scot’s bedroom. Come along and see what life was like all those years ago with the smells, sounds and sights of yesteryear, several of the rooms are as if the inhabitants have just left!
Enjoy watching the outstanding Hawk and Owls in their fabulous flying display in the Courtyard, discover more about the use of archery in hunting, sport and warfare during one of the Medieval Archery talks. Pay a visit to the resident bees and their hives and see the lovely Wensleydale sheep. Why not before you leave come along to the Castle Tea Room and enjoy homemade cake and pot of tea.
