Jorvik DIG

York

Visit DIG and discover the most fascinating archaeological artefacts from the historic City of York over the last two thousand years.

We have 4 excavation pits containing amazing Viking, Medieval, Roman, and Victorian artefacts. All you need to do is dig down for the clues that will reveal how people actually lived in those ages gone by.

When you've unearthed amazing discoveries that lay waiting for you in our excavation pits, a real archaeologist will be on hand to show you how to examine your archaeological finds and what those items were actually used for. Keep a watch out for pieces of Roman house tile, skulls and even Viking-age poo!
