Lastingham Grange Country House Hotel & Restaurant

Lastingham Grange is a family-owned and managed country house hotel and restaurant in the peaceful location of Lastingham, in the North York Moors National Park. It has been run as hotel by the Wood family since 1946 and in recent years has won a plethora of awards for the quality of its service and rooms. The Grange is situated on the edge of the moors in 10 acres, with fields and well-kept gardens.

Visitors can expect a friendly welcome and a restful ambience in the Grange, where peace and tranquillity go hand in hand with a courteous and personal service. Lastingham is a quiet village, and the only sound in our gardens is usually that of the many songbirds that visit. An article about visiting North Yorkshire in the Financial Times by Harold Champion described the Grange as, “the best hotel of the whole tour, an ideal spot to spend a weekend in utter peace and enjoying fine country fare”.

The bedrooms in the Grange are all en suite and tastefully decorated and furnished, the lounge is comfortable and spacious and has an open fire for the cooler evenings, and the dining room has views over the terrace to the rose garden. Mealtimes are rather special occasions at the Grange - we endeavour to  use only the finest local products and our menus change daily to reflect seasonal availability. And we try and cater for special dietary requirements.

The Grange also has a self-catering cottage - the Old Reading Room.
