Lavinia House B&B

Whitby

An elegant and beautiful Victorian townhouse which offers high-quality Yorkshire B&B accommodation with views of Whitby's east and west piers and the harbour.

From £68.00
per room per night

Lavinia House is a rather beautiful and elegant Victorian townhouse dating back to around the 1850s, which sits above Whitby’s Khyber Pass, and overlooks the harbour and its two piers with their lighthouses. Lavinia House has been carefully refurbished, yet retains many of the original features and all of its charm and character. It has been lovingly decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard to provide bed and breakfast accommodation of equally high quality.

Lavinia House has seven spacious en suite double guest bedrooms and two of these have 4-poster beds! Several of the bedrooms have stunning sea views, but all of the rooms come complete with a colour television, a lovely selection of complimentary toiletries, a radio alarm clock and tea and coffee making facilities which makes it just like home.

Breakfast is served daily in the dining room which has a light and airy feel, and a pleasure to eat in, with a good range of options available to suit all appetites, including a full English breakfast. For those wanting something a little lighter there are scrambled or poached eggs, or baked beans on toast, cereals, fruit, and toast with preserves and plenty of tea and coffee.

This stunning guest house is situated close to Whitby harbour and is the ideal place to stay for exploring Whitby and the local area. Whitby is a delightful fishing port and boasts fantastic long sandy beaches and a vast array of specialist shops and boutiques, cafes, fish and chip shops, restaurants, galleries and museums as well as the world famous Abbey all just waiting to be explored.

If you fancy going further a field then there is the small fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay and the stunning seaside resort of Scarborough which has the incredible North Bay and South Bay which are overlooked by the castle remains located on the headland. Or why not take a journey in land and explore the rustic heather moorland of the North Yorkshire Moors with its attractive pretty villages or you could take a trip on the wonderful Moors steam railway which runs from Pickering and Grosmont.
