Manor Cottage is a roomy, self-catering holiday home, well and equipped and maintained by the owner to the highest standards. It was, at one time, a Yorkshire school of the kind featured in the Dickens novel, Nicholas Nickleby.
The village of Kirby Hill is very old and boasts a large and very fine medieval church. The cottage has a view over the village green and is close to the Shoulder of Mutton - known for real ales and fine food.
The cottage’s location makes it an ideal springboard for visits to three National Parks - the Yorkshire Dales (only 4 miles away), the North York Moors (25 miles) and the Lake District (50 miles).
Richmond on the River Swale is on the doorstep (4.5 miles) and has a Norman Castle, the Georgian Theatre Royal (an active theatre with its own museum), and several markets, the Green Howards Regimental Museum and the Richmondshire Museum. So there’s plenty to see and do.
