Meadowcroft Cottage

Meadowcroft is a modern conversion of part of a large traditional stone barn and offers luxurious accommodation in a glorious setting for up to a maximum of five people. A short 200-metre walk takes you to the centre of the village.

The cottage is slightly unusual in that the living area is on the first floor to take advantage of the stunning views of the Dale from both aspects. The two bedrooms and bathroom are on the ground floor. 

For many years Meadowcroft has been rated as ‘Four Star’ by Visit Britain. The kitchen has provided everything from simple snacks to gourmet meals whilst the bathroom fittings are to ‘executive’ standard. Virtually all facilities are provided including FULL HD SATELLITE TV and FREE WI-FI. A garage plus an adjacent area provide totally secure completely off-road parking.

Meadowcroft has always been popular. Some guests have already stayed for more than a total of thirty weeks!

Thoralby is a very old village nestling close to the famous beauty spot of Aysgarth Falls at the foot of the glaciated valley of Bishopdale where it joins Wensleydale itself. It has its own village green, post office and pub serving excellent food. Situated in the heart of the ‘Yorkshire Dales National Park’, there is easy access to all parts of the Dales by car, whilst an extensive network of footpaths fans out from the village itself – absolute bliss for dogs and walkers alike!

Unusually, the main Dales thoroughfares skirt around the village and leave it with an unrivalled air of peace and tranquility at all times of the year. It has retained the characteristics of an active agricultural community, unspoiled by excessive tourism. No wonder it is known as one of the ‘hidden gems’ of the Dales.
