Ripon
One of England's renowned Adam houses, an exceptional example of 18th century interior decoration.
Newby Hall was designed by Robert Adams under the counsel of Sir Christopher Wren and this beautiful country house, residence of the family Compton, is an outstanding testament to the Georgian 'Age of Elegance'. Its wonderfully restored interior portrays Adams at his absolute finest.
The early 1920s saw Peter Aram create the award winning gardens, which include one of the longest herbaceous double borders in the whole of Europe, and are of keen interest to both green fingered amateurs and specialist gardeners alike. A water garden, a rose garden and even a tropical garden can all be discovered throughout the spring, summer and autumn months.
Newby Hall also has plenty to keep children entertained, with an island fort, boating pond, miniature railway and water play area all to be discovered in the well thought out and imaginatively designed children's Adventure Garden.
