No 54 is an excellent 5* country bed and breakfast situated in the heart of the popular market town of Helmsley, nestled on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The residence was constructed in the early 19th Century and boasts York flag stone floors and open fires.

Bedrooms are bright and furnished to an exceptional standard, with comfortable beds and crisp white sheets, not to mention thick, fluffy towels adding a little luxury to your stay. Other luxuries include our breakfasts, which use the finest local produce, and include our delicious home baked muffins. If you feel like enjoying your breakfast in bed we can deliver a continental breakfast hamper to your room.

Whether you're visiting for a restful break or a business trip, No 54 is perfectly situated between Thirsk and Pickering and is only 25 miles north of York. There's an abundance of attractions in the local area including Rievaulx Abbey, Helmsley Castle and Walled Garden or the superb Castle Howard. Duncombe Park, the Baroque family home of Lord and Lady Feversham is also close by. The breathtaking 1713 mansion, temples and terrace architecture make this masterpiece a fantastic day out for all the family.

Helmsley is not only an attractive and popular stopover on the Yorkshire coastal route, but it is also a very pleasant place to stay for an extensive break. Beneath the towering Norman castle lay the pretty market town brimming with shops, traditional coaching inns and quality country restaurants.

There's a rich cultural scene, with The Helmsley Arts Centre providing a diverse selection of theatrical and musical entertainment.
