Whether you’re walking or touring, the perfect finish at the end of the day is to relax in comfort at a home from home, and Rockery Cottage B&B is just that. It has three luxurious en suite bedrooms - one double, one twin (all en suite), a residents’ lounge, a separate sitting room with an extensive library, and a dining room. It also has a beautiful secluded garden with a very attractive summer house - the ideal place to sit and take things easy if you don’t wish to rush off.
Rockery Cottage has won the EnjoyEngland Breakfast Award and is a member of Deliciously Yorkshire (which means that it sources your Yorkshire breakfast from locally produced food as far as possible). There’s usually a home-made cake or two ready for returning walkers. For evening meals there’s a pub in the village and lots of other excellent places to eat a little further afield. Wombleton is 4½ miles from the very pretty market town of Helmsley, which has a plentiful supply of tea-rooms, cafés, and restaurants of various types, as well as bijou shops, an Arts Centre, a ruined Castle, a Victorian Walled Garden and Duncombe Park - a historic house with hundreds of acres of parklands and amazing gardens.
Nearby lie the beautiful ruins of two medieval monasteries Rievaulx Abbey (7 miles) and Byland Abbey (11 miles).
Wombleton is a matter of only 2-3 miles from the North York Moors National Park, one of the most stunning areas of countryside in the UK.
