The Selomar

It's hard to know which of the Selomar Hotel's many plusses is its best feature. Is it this guest house's comfortable rooms? Is it the convenient location (only minutes away from the beaches)? Or the friendly welcome typical of a family-run establishment? Or maybe it's the stunning views across Scarborough's North Bay from front-facing bedrooms? Or perhaps it's the breath-taking vista across Scarborough and its beautiful South Bay from the rear bedrooms? Or could it be the excellent breakfast and service that guests receive?

Well the good thing is that you don't have to nail it down to one single factor, because if you stay at the Selomar you can have them all (the only problem being having to choose between a bedroom that looks over the South Bay or one that looks over the North Bay).

The Selomar is a 4-star (Enjoy England) guest house which has a distinguished appearance (the magnificent building is Victorian) but modern facilities - all twelve bedrooms are en suite and all have been refurbished to a very high standard.

The owners of the Selomar are Ken and Irene Broadbent, and the guest house is managed by Paul Broadbent - so it's very much a family concern. And which is why families are always welcomed.

Scarborough is the ideal resort for all the family, with lots to do and see, great beaches, amusements, museums, parks, theatres, cinemas, the Castle, the Harbour (great for fishing), the Scarborough Cricket Ground, and a huge array of shops in the town centre. And there are lots of excellent pubs, restaurants and cafés for lunch and evening meals.

Talking of food, the Selomar Hotel prides itself on setting their guests up with a top-notch breakfast in the morning - delicious homemade muesli, followed by a traditional, scrumptious, full English breakfast, made with the finest locally-sourced produce, or one of the many other options on offer. Lighter breakfasts are also available if preferred.

After breakfast you might like to plan your day whilst sitting in the Sea View Bar/Lounge with its amazing views. And at the end of a busy day, spent enjoying all that Scarborough can offer, what better way to relax than sitting comfortably in the Sea View Bar/Lounge and chatting over a glass of beer wine or spirits.

All the bedrooms at the Selomar have a flat-screen Freeview TV set with DVD and radio. There's also free WiFi so you can stay connected and make friends and workmates jealous by emailing them copies of your holiday snaps. When you arrive, you'll find tea and coffee making facilities in your room, along with complimentary toiletries and towels.
