Sun Hill Farm Cottages & Sun Hill Lodges

Located on the side of a hill, amidst sublime countryside just a few miles from Leyburn, is Sun Hill Farm, a racehorse training yard with two lovely holiday cottages and four superbly luxurious lodges. The setting is simply stunning and makes for a fantastic, relaxing get-away or an activity-filled holiday. A warm Yorkshire welcome awaits you at Sun Hill Farm.

THE COTTAGES:

Sun Hill Cottage (the larger of the two cottages) sleeps up to four people. After a day’s exploring the magnificent surrounding countryside you can kick off your boots in the spacious entrance hall, and head through to the kitchen for a hot drink. There’s a full range of kitchen appliances and an oil-fired Aga. The separate dining room leads through to the cosy sitting room via a stone archway, and from here open the patio doors and step out into the attractive, secluded garden. Upstairs there are two bedrooms: one double and one twin, both with their own en suite facilities. Sun Hill Cottage now has its own HOT TUB too.

The Palins is the smaller of the two holiday cottages, and is a compact and comfortable one bedroom cottage with an en suite shower room. The open plan kitchen/living/dining room has a lovely cosy feel. It’s a great choice for a romantic break, or can be booked in conjunction with Sun Hill Cottage for larger groups.

Guests wishing to experience a taste of the world of horseracing can take part in a tour of the busy stables and watch the training taking place from the private gallops. Packages can also be organised for guests to enjoy a visit to one of the area’s many racecourses, which can include a behind-the-scenes tour or a private box for the day.

THE LODGES: 

Four superbly luxurious Log Cabins, offering total luxury in its finest form. Equipped and furnished to extremely high standards, each Cabin has a wood-burning stove, Wi-Fi, large screen TV, iPod docking station, hot tub, BBQ or fire pit, and a luxury king size comfy bed to roll in to and relax at the end of a very enjoyable day. 

Spindrifter Lodge could be the perfect holiday retreat (or honeymoon hideaway) choice. Set in its own private garden, enjoying sweeping views across the Dales to Pen Hill, this luxury 3 bedroomed lodge is named after the legendary “Spindrifter”, ridden by George Duffield to a record-breaking 13 victories in its first ever racing season.

Woodlands Corner Lodge also has 3 bedrooms and offers all the luxuries and facilities to make for that perfect holiday.

Alborada Lodge (also named after a famous racehorse)has two bedrooms and is perfectly equipped for that short break or long holiday. 

Pivotal Lodge (named after another famous racehorse) is also a 2 bedroomed lodge offering total luxury.

Pets are welcome in the Lodges (not in the Cottages).
