Sutton-on-the-Forest
The Prettiest House & Gardens in Yorkshire - the Yorkshire home of Sir Reginald and Lady Sheffield.
Sutton Park is a fine example of an early Georgian Stately Home and is filled with stunning 18th Century artefacts, many formerly of Buckingham House (now Buckingham Palace), including beautiful furniture, exquisite porcelain, fine paintings, and plaster works by the renowned Cortese.
This magnificent house is also the lived in home of Sir Reginald and Lady Sheffield, whose rare collection of treasures have been put together with elegance and style. The rooms are always adorned with fresh flowers picked from the house's own garden providing a fragrant backdrop.
The delightful garden has received a lot of recognition, including the Yorkshire in Bloom 2008 Silver Gilt Award and is renowned for its beauty. It really is a "must-see" for all green fingered enthusiasts and garden lovers. The house's grounds provide many other treats, including walks through beautiful woodland, a pretty bluebell walk in the spring months and a Georgian Icehouse.
Guests can visit the wonderful tearooms, where a fine range of fare is on offer, including sandwiches and home-made soups prepared with seasonal ingredients, and scones and cakes freshly baked in the house's own kitchens every day. Parties that have booked can also arrange for lunch, afternoon tea, or a buffet supper to be laid on.
