West Tanfield
A wonderfully unique bed and breakfast/country inn offering sublime culinary delights.
From £60.00
per room per night
Ideally located in the picturesque village of West Tanfield, The Bruce Arms is a traditional country inn offering B&B with a few twists. You can still expect to enjoy sitting in front of real log fires and enjoying a hand-pulled local ale. You can also enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the owner and chef Hugh Carruthers, formerly of the Michelin starred Yorke Arms in Ramsgill, who cooks what is probably the best breakfast in Yorkshire!
West Tanfield is easily accessible due to its proximity to the A1, yet is beautifully quiet and tranquil, and an ideal spot for walkers. Situated on the edge of both the Yorkshire Dales and the Vale of York, the historic city of York, spa town of Harrogate and market towns of Masham and Thirsk are within easy reach.
"This pub is the one to watch" (AA Pub Guide 2011). "Great atmosphere, good beer and fantastic food" (James Ramsden, The Independent). "The Bruce Arms proves quite a catch ... first class Sunday lunch" (Mike Amos, The Northern Echo).
