The George is an inn with a long and proud history - this stone built 4-star Gold Award pub dates back to 1732. As you'd expect from a building this old, it has bags of character and a comfortable and cosy atmosphere.
Thoralby is in Bishopdale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park - an area of exquisite scenic charm. Charles and Becci Martin, the owners, offer a traditionally friendly Dales welcome to all.
The George has two very comfortable and well-equipped guest rooms, providing excellent B&B accommodation, and has been awarded the Visit Britain Breakfast Award. Also available are lunch (except Mondays & Tuesdays, excluding bank holidays) and evening meals, and, to ensure guests get a good night's rest, the accommodation is in an annexe a few metres away from the inn itself.
The George provides excellent meals, using locally-sourced ingredients, a good choice of Cask Marque Accredited hand-pulled real ales and fine wines.
