The Jorvik Hotel is not quite as old as its name may suggest, 'Jorvik' being the Viking name for York, however it does date as far back as 1750.
The beautiful building overlooks the 11th Century church of St Olafs, the remains of St Mary's Abbey, and the gateway to the Museum Gardens which are home to the Yorkshire Museum. A short stroll through the gardens will take you to York's busy shopping streets and its spectacular cathedral, York Minster.
All 22 en suite rooms in the Jorvik Hotel are furnished to a high standard, and are comfortable as well as pleasing to the eye. Superior rooms are also available and have luxurious fixtures and fittings such as Jacuzzi baths, king size beds and Tassimo hot drink makers, making them an ideal choice for special occasions or decadent breaks.
