Brewing in Masham in the wonderful Yorkshire Dales since 1827 and home of the legendary Old Peculiar, the Brewery has a Visitor Centre where you can smell, taste and watch ales being created first hand.
Theakston's Brewery, the home of legendary ales, has operated through 5 generations of the Theakston family. Spanning almost two centuries long Theakston's have been brewing a wide range of bottled, brewery conditioned and cask ales, and are more famously known fo the "Theakston's Old Peculier" beer. 2013 marks the 186th anniversary of the founding of this Brewery company by Robert Theakston, back in 1827.
Our Visitor Centre is open all year round to the public, and we run operated guided tours on a daily basis where you can soak up the atmosphere of the brewers in operation - from blending the ingredients through to filling the casks and witnessing the barrel making by the highly skilled cooper.
Tours can be thirsty work, so why not savour the experience of our legendary Ales in our Visitor Centre (also known as "The Black Bull in Paradise") which in times gone by stored the drays and dray horses, and was used as a warehouse to store crates of ales.
