This is an entertaining and informative guided tour of York's history with chocolate and its well known chocolate-manufacturing families. From the discovery of the cocoa bean in Central America's Rainforests thousands of years ago, through to the 18th Century when several of York's own Quaker families opened their own chocolate shops and cocoa houses, the families of Rowntree, Terry, Tuke and Craven made York world-wide famous from their amazing achievements. You'll be able to discover more about these chocolate founding families in 'The Story Zone'.
The 'Factory Zone' informs you of how the cocoa bean is transformed in to quality chocolate in our virtual chocolate factory. Take a trip down Memory Lane and reminisce those times gone by with some of your recognised 'old favourites'.
