Exhibitors launch WI Centennial Fair

To celebrate 100 years of achievements the Women’s Institute are putting on four fun-filled days of wonderful events at the Harrogate International Centre between the dates of 3 – 6 September 2015, which will be one of the top events taking place during a year of fantastic WI centenary celebrations.

Throughout this fabulous four day event visitors will have the chance to enjoy over 150 hands-on workshops, demonstrations and seminars which will be led by a line-up of celebrity speakers, specialists and leading professionals, with lifestyle seminars from famous names such as Bill Oddie (offering useful information and aspirational stories in the Travel & Outdoors Theatre), Carol Smillie and Dr Hilary Jones (who amongst many others will be offering tips on well-being, the home and gardening in the Lifestyle Theatre).

This will be a most unique celebration that showcases and embodies the work of the Women’s Institute during its very special centenary year. There will be over 200 exhibitors and cooking demonstrations and craft workshops to enjoy.

Exhibitors (who have been carefully selected) will be sharing the best of ethical homeware and textiles, artisan food and drink, hand-crafted goods and jewellery, travel lifestyle experiences and cookery and gardening equipment.

The Create & Craft Theatre (sponsored by Create and Craft TV) will showcase expert’s skills of , knitting and crochet and embroidery through to upholstery, photography and paper crafts. Top chefs and bakers will be seen in action within the Live Kitchen Theatre  including Peter Lien (Head of the WI Cookery School), plus ITV’s very own “Food Glorious Food” and WI cookery Judge: Anne Harrison and the Great British Bake Off finalists: Luis Troyano and Howard Middleton.

The Women’s Institue is the UK’s largest organisation for women with a total of 212,000 members within around 6,600 WI groups nationwide. The WI as an organisation celebrates its actual Centenary on 16 September 2015.
