Set in an idyllic spot of the North York Moors countryside (also known as Heartbeat Country due to the town’s alter ego as Aidensfield in the TV series, Heartbeat) Goathland is the epitome of a rural Yorkshire village. Grassy verges surround picturesque stone houses, and sheep roam freely in the street. In abundance!

Goathland is a popular spot, and in the summer months the main high street, lined with various little shops, is often a resting point for walkers, who can be found enjoying an ice-cream in the sunshine on the grass.
The village has an excellent pub and inn called the Mallyan Spout, which has a large beer garden with fantastic open views of the valley below. A path to the side of the pub leads down to West Beck, which leads to the beautiful waterfall after which the inn was named.

Goathland Station featured in the Harry Potter films, and is on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway route, which connects Whitby and Pickering. Beautiful steam trains pass through the station throughout the day.
